Alsager Town Council Welcomes New Town Clerk
September 12th 2017
Nicola Clarke spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry working at varying locations in the UK culminating in a spell at Manchester Airport and University of Wales, Wrexham. After a career break she began working for a small parish council near Northwich and moved on to become assistant clerk at Holmes Chapel in 2008. She became clerk of the Council in 2013 on the retirement of long standing clerk, David Cowgill.
Holmes Chapel has undertaken major changes over the past four years with the acquisition of assets, creation of a country park and funding and building a skate park. Nicola passed her qualification in Local Council Administration and helped Holmes Chapel Parish Council become the first National Association of Local Councils, Quality Gold council in Cheshire in May 2016. She hopes that she can assist Alsager to become a Quality Council.
She is a member of the Society of Local Council Clerks and treasurer of the Cheshire Branch. At home, the family enjoy walking their rescue dog; she has been a member of a reading group for over 16 years which helps feed her voracious reading habit and she enjoys visiting the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.
