Elections are taking place in January 2018 for the Alsager Youth Council.

These elections are a fantastic opportunity for young people to stand up and make their voices heard.   The Alsager Youth Council will give young people a voice and allow elected youth councillors to make decisions on the issues that young people in the town care about.  Decisions the Youth Council make will be taken the Town Council meetings for consideration and, hopefully, approval.

Alsager Youth Council will be made up of 12 youth councillors who will serve for a term of up to 2 years. 4 youth councillors will be elected from Alsager School & Sixth Form and 6 will be elected from youth organisations in Alsager.

So, if you are a young person aged between 11-18 who is interested in representing the views of fellow young people and who is interested in helping in make a difference in the local community, then why not stand to be a youth councillor?

You must be aged between 11-18 and must meet at least one of the following requirements:

–          Live in the town of Alsager

–          Be a student at Alsager School & Sixth Form

–          Be a member or student of a youth organisation in Alsager.

Nominations for the youth council must be handed in at Alsager School or at the Alsager Town Council Offices by Friday 12th January 2018. Elections will then be due to take place on Thursday 25th January 2018.    Nominations already received from the last request will be automatically retained unless the nominee withdraws.
